Context:

Ashens is a guy who reviews relatively useless items on his couch. Apparently at some point, he made a film with some familiar faces such as Chris Bingham and Larry Bundy Jr. I didn’t even see it before deciding to back this sequel. I saw it later though. Of course, I had to aim for the name in the credits tier, which was pretty expensive.

Result:

The film has not yet been released.

A masterpiece in Korean indie animation, the There She Is!! series was first introduced to me on Newgrounds. It has since been remastered in HD for YouTube, and was neatly wrapped up in it’s 5th and final episode. However, an opportunity to crowdfund a bonus 6th episode and a DVD of the series arose, and I couldn’t pass it up.

Result:

The DVD and 6th episode have not been finalised yet. Some digital rewards have already been sent.

HERTZFELDT ON BLU-RAY by don hertzfeldt

Pledged: $34
Rewards: Physical copy of the blu-ray
Kickstarter start date: July 16, 2015
Kickstarter funded on: August 16, 2015
Estimated delivery date: January 2016

Context:

Don Hertzfeldt is an animator who used to focus primarily on making animated cartoons where all the drawings were done on paper (but he does draw digitally now). He has been featured in a couch gag on The Simpsons, but he is mostly known for his short film Rejected. As all the DVDs featuring collections of his short films were sold out, this campaign to create a blu-ray of his work was definitely not one to miss.

Result:

The blu-ray arrived at my place on March 29, 2016.

It contains the full version of It’s Such a Beautiful Day, World of Tomorrow, and his short and student films, all remastered specifically for the blu-ray.

There was also a cardboard insert and mini-booklet about the World of Tomorrow film inside the sleeve.

I tweeted about it here:
